Last Minute Dot Com Christmas

One of my favorite things about being Irish and living in Ireland is the wit and clever use of language. I heard this phrase by an Irish person referring to the Irish as”last minute dot com” people.  It has always stuck with me. In many ways this can be true. However, I have known many Irish that are particularly organized and early when it comes to Christmas gift shopping. If you’re not prepared however for the looming day, never fear. I have a few ideas for you.

While every blogger and their dog (which would then be called a dlogger)  has a gift guide out there then I guess I’m one of the masses. But this is a short list of unique gifts that I think your loved one would appreciate! Some are Irish, some U.S. and some U.K. to cater to a variety of you out there! All five are either foodie or experiences (since that is what I am all about) rather than “stuff”,  and all are businesses that I have used myself.

  1. Sweet Living Kilkenny:  This personalized and custom luxury Irish chocolate bar design company is one of my favorites. Delicious, so unique and specialized. Sure to please anyone on your Christmas list. The owner of the company, Claire Malloy is an amazing person and a huge inspiration. I have loved getting to know her on Snapchat and have shared on here my admiration for her.
  2. Spun Candy: This is still talked about as one of my most popular Foodie Fieldtrip Friday locations. I absolutely adore their candy! It is well made and the selection is fantastic. They also offer classes and parties. So if your loved one prefers a candy “experience” you might consider a voucher for an unforgettable day out.
  3. Funzing: This London based organization is sort of an air b&b of experiences. From cooking classes to walking tours, street art workshops or candle making, there is something for everyone. I took a sushi making class booked through Funzing. They are a go to resource for a community of people with a skill or talent to offer. You can go online and scour their guide until you find something that suits your fancy. So if the person on your list prefers to create memories than to collect stuff, this is the perfect gift for them!
  4. Goldbelly: The is one of my favorite websites to use for foodie gifts in America. Gourmet food and various food gifts galore can be found on their extensive guide. From savory to sweet it is on here.  From NY deli bagels to Southern BBQ ribs or Maine lobsters, no matter what your loved one craves you can order it online to be delivered to their door.
  5. Air B&B: Since this is a worldwide company with accommodations of every sort available this literally suits every taste and budget. If you have someone who likes to travel, why not give them a gift of a place to lay their head? And now Air B&B are offering packages called Lifestyle Experiences where you can send your loved one on an adventurous weekend of horseback riding, hiking and sleeping in the desert. This is not your average necktie Christmas gift that is for sure!

So there you have it, five very unique ideas for your last minute dot com Christmas shopping. And all of which can be organized via the internet from wherever you are at this minute reading this post! Then you can be called “This minute dot com”.

Ho Ho Ho with a heap of LOVE,

YDP
