Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

It is HERE! 100! I am so excited I can barely type this! The 100th episode of Woman Crush Wednesday! All of the previous 99 honorees have been special, unique and talented chefs, and today’s WCW recipient is no different. Clare Smyth is so well respected and has worked with big names such as Gordon Ramsey and Heston Blumenthal. But she is making her own mark in the culinary world. She has been honored as best female chef several times including this year. Originally from Northern Ireland, Clare Smyth, owns the award winning London restaurant Core located in Notting Hill. I happened to pass there today and am so proud to dedicate at day to celebrate all Clare’s achievements including her popular restaurant.

Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

Another Wednesday has arrived and I am amazed to be honest. Today is the 99th Woman Crush Wednesday episode. I get so much joy out of honoring a female chef each week. When I started this, I never thought about how many there would be, but I just focused on each and every one. Giving them all the love they deserve. These women have inspired me so much, and today’s honoree is BEYOND inspiring. Mashama Bailey may be a New Yorker by birth, but she is a Southern girl at heart. She puts soul into every dish and just wait until you see what recipe of hers I am going to re-create today!

She is such an inspiration and I am delighted to share the LOVE for her with all of you!

Recipe: Secret Ingredient Turkey Burgers

It is a bank holiday Monday here in London, so an end of summer BBQ is in order!!!  Hubby won’t eat red meat so I usually make ordinary turkey burgers. But I made some turkey burgers with zucchini in them the last time I was visiting my daughter and family in the USA. They were very good! I don’t remember my daughter’s recipe source, so I had to re-create something on the fly. But they turned out delicious…moist, flavorful and healthy!  Continue reading

Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

Hello again and thanks for coming back for another episode of Woman Crush Wednesday. The best day of the week in my book!  Because another fabulous female foodie gets the love and we get a new recipe!  I am so excited to share today’s honoree with you.  Hubby and I watched Shelina Permalloo win Master Chef U.K. in 2012. We were still living in Dublin back then. Who knew we’d be living in the U.K. now ourselves!  Hopefully one day soon I can go to her restaurant Lakaz Maman in Southhampton for a Foodie Fieldtrip Friday! But first, I am going to recreate one of Shelina’s recipes on my Snapchat (username blissbakery) so come watch, or just continue reading for pics and more about this gorgeous gourmet gal!  Continue reading

Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

As I was preparing for this week’s episode of Woman Crush Wednesday, Hubby reminded me that it was time for a savory dish. Not always, but traditionally I would alternate one week sweet and another savory. However, I tend to error on the side of sweets, cuz I roll like that! So as not to have three weeks in a row of treats, I chose a treat of a recipe by the amazing Ping Coombes. WCW honoree #89 has a wealth of recipes to choose from, but this savory “Asian Bologneses” as she has nicknamed it, sounds delicious by the list of ingredients! But I am not surprised, as Ping Coombes is a winner of Master Chef UK and a cookery book author!
