It is a bank holiday Monday here in London, so an end of summer BBQ is in order!!! Hubby won’t eat red meat so I usually make ordinary turkey burgers. But I made some turkey burgers with zucchini in them the last time I was visiting my daughter and family in the USA. They were very good! I don’t remember my daughter’s recipe source, so I had to re-create something on the fly. But they turned out delicious…moist, flavorful and healthy! Continue reading

Happy Third Blog Birthday!
Three years have come and gone. They would have anyway. The days, weeks and months pass by on our calendar. The question is, what do we have to show for it? Have you ever stopped to think about it? That is why I love to recognize milestones, birthdays, holidays etc. These moments punctuate our lives for a reason. They give us a chance to take stock and see where we have come, and please God, where we have yet to go AND grow! Much has happened in my life during these three years. Some good, some bad. But today, I am going to highlight an area where I have had an influence and that is with this little old blog called Yankee Doodle Paddy! Continue reading
Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned
While I am nearing the 3rd birthday of this blog Yankee Doodle Paddy, I realize that I have quite a few stories in the “draft” folder waiting to be published. Today’s story is one of them. I had planned to post it on a Thursday because that is the day I host the hashtag game on Snapchat called #tellthetruththursday But for me everyday is about the TRUTH!
Too Old
We’ve all heard it before: “I’m too old to do this” or “You’re too old for that” or “We shouldn’t do it ‘cuz we are too old”. What is your take? Do you think being too old is an excuse for things? And what age is too old? Well I asked this question to my Snapfam commUNITY and got an overwhelming response. Continue reading
A Royal Experience
Groundbreaking, inclusive, romantic, unique, personal, different, and untraditional were many words I heard while watching the television coverage of the Royal Wedding. But the word I heard most often was modern. May 19, 2018 is a day many will remember for years to come. As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared their love publicly at the Windsor Castle wedding, it is estimated that billions of people watched along with them. And while I wiped away many a tear, I also cheered as indeed it was beautiful, touching and MODERN!
Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday
It is May 2nd, which means we are getting closer to the halfway point of 2018. What is even more exciting is that today is Woman Crush Wednesday episode number 92! Inching nearer to 100 each week. It means so much to me that you have all been so supportive of this special day to honor these fabulous female foodies! And today’s WCW chef is Londoner Natasha Corrett Continue reading
Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday
As I was preparing for this week’s episode of Woman Crush Wednesday, Hubby reminded me that it was time for a savory dish. Not always, but traditionally I would alternate one week sweet and another savory. However, I tend to error on the side of sweets, cuz I roll like that! So as not to have three weeks in a row of treats, I chose a treat of a recipe by the amazing Ping Coombes. WCW honoree #89 has a wealth of recipes to choose from, but this savory “Asian Bologneses” as she has nicknamed it, sounds delicious by the list of ingredients! But I am not surprised, as Ping Coombes is a winner of Master Chef UK and a cookery book author!
