Guest Blogger Month II: Post #6

Last year for the Guest Blogger Month I had two men share LOVE stories….and one of those was my Hubby!  I get that society makes sharing the topic of love a bit intimidating especially for dudes!  However,  LOVE not only has no gender, but it can also be about so many topics.  In fact the aforementioned love story from Hubby was about a pair of boots.  And he never even used the word LOVE!  But love oozes from each sentence.  So I am delighted that this year we have another man brave enough to share a love story.  I am excited to introduce you to a fellow Irish and a fellow chef, the awesome Matt! Guest Blogger Month II: Post #4

Though I haven’t met Guest Blogger #4 in person, I feel like I have. Because I sit with her on the floor of her kitchen every day while we wear our dressing gown (aka house coat, aka bathrobe). Only Sue’s is a chic leopard print, and mine is a dingy white one!  But I have really enjoyed getting to know Sue through our Snapchat friendship. I truly admire her honesty.   She even has a blog and Instagram account named @honestmammy ! But it is her yearly unwavering dedication to the Darkness into Light charity walk (which benefits the Irish Pieta House)that endeared me to her for eternity.  She is an example of how to take our deepest pain and use it for our highest purpose. And no doubt she is able to do that because of LOVE! Continue reading

Guest Blogger Month II: Post #3

Today’s Guest Blogger is a well known figure in the Irish social media milieu. A mommy of two, I can relate to her in many ways.  Like me she has a daughter and a son and has had to be a mommy without having her mom with her any longer.  But she does everything with warmth, humor and grace.  Apropos that Guest Blogger #3 is the fabulous Grace Rattigan!  It is my honor to present her awesome LOVE story to you.  Continue reading

Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

Today is the 81st episode of Woman Crush Wednesday and you might recognize the honoree. Londoner Sally Butcher is not only well known for her fabulous cookery books, but also her amazing shop in Peckham called Persepolis and the darling cafe that adjoins it. In fact, if you watch my Foodie Fieldtrip Friday segment on my Snapchat (username blissbakery) you won’t be surprised that I have chosen Sally as my WCW. Just two weeks ago I visited and feasted on some of her amazing Persian food.  And I purchased a key ingredient for today’s awesome cooking tutorial. Continue reading

Havana a Ball!

I couldn’t help the play on words when I came up with the title for this blog post about our trip to Havana.  I could have titled this “Havana a Laugh” but to be honest our trip wasn’t all fun and games.  But bottom line we did have a ball in Havana.  While we were there for the Havana Film Festival, seeing on average three films per day, we did squeeze in some sightseeing. It really is a fascinating place, with a rich history and culture. Continue reading

Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

If you haven’t noticed by now, I try to balance out the recipes on Yankee Doodle Paddy with some naughty and some nice.  I am not a vegan or vegetarian but I do enjoy eating and cooking that way from time to time.  I try not to eat too much dairy,  but since butter is one of my fav things in life I do allow it, when it is worth it.  Well today’s recipe is one of those days!  It is the 78th edition of Woman Crush Wednesday and our gorgeous gourmet gals (yes plural) are Martha Swift and Lisa Thomas of Primrose Bakery here in London.
