It is HERE! 100! I am so excited I can barely type this! The 100th episode of Woman Crush Wednesday! All of the previous 99 honorees have been special, unique and talented chefs, and today’s WCW recipient is no different. Clare Smyth is so well respected and has worked with big names such as Gordon Ramsey and Heston Blumenthal. But she is making her own mark in the culinary world. She has been honored as best female chef several times including this year. Originally from Northern Ireland, Clare Smyth, owns the award winning London restaurant Core located in Notting Hill. I happened to pass there today and am so proud to dedicate at day to celebrate all Clare’s achievements including her popular restaurant.

Recipe: Some Salads for Summer and Then Some..
My love affair with salads has been firmly accounted for on this blog. A couple of years ago I even devoted a whole week titled “Salad Scentral” with daily recipe posts to get the New Year started off on a healthy note. Well I have a couple of newbies to add to your rotation. And in a quick post, I will share the recipes, photos, and pleas for you to please make these two beauts at home! Your lunchbox will be very happy this week if you do!

Another Wednesday has arrived and I am amazed to be honest. Today is the 99th Woman Crush Wednesday episode. I get so much joy out of honoring a female chef each week. When I started this, I never thought about how many there would be, but I just focused on each and every one. Giving them all the love they deserve. These women have inspired me so much, and today’s honoree is BEYOND inspiring. Mashama Bailey may be a New Yorker by birth, but she is a Southern girl at heart. She puts soul into every dish and just wait until you see what recipe of hers I am going to re-create today!
Foodie Fieldtrip Friday: Outsider Tart
Today is Labor Day in the U.S.A. Though I have lived away from America since 2008 I am still keenly aware of all the holidays and traditions that go with it. I miss my family full stop! Thank goodness for FaceTime and especially trips home. But my visits back don’t always coincide with certain holidays and I actually pine for the many activities associated with them. Okay let’s face it I mainly miss the food associated with the holidays. And to me Labor Day means the end of summer and eating things such as BBQ, pulled pork sandwiches, salads galore, and some gooey, naughty treat! While I won’t be able to do that today, I did get to recreate an early Labor Day meal recently at the incredible Outsider Tart here in London. Continue reading

Welcome back to Woman Crush Wednesday. It is always a fabulous day when I can honor a female chef doing amazing things in the culinary world. Today’s recipient of the 98th WCW episode is Lidia Bastianich. A giant in the gastronomic world. A chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, television star, you name it, Lidia’s done it. She is such an inspiration and I am delighted to share the LOVE for her with all of you!
Recipe: Secret Ingredient Turkey Burgers
It is a bank holiday Monday here in London, so an end of summer BBQ is in order!!! Hubby won’t eat red meat so I usually make ordinary turkey burgers. But I made some turkey burgers with zucchini in them the last time I was visiting my daughter and family in the USA. They were very good! I don’t remember my daughter’s recipe source, so I had to re-create something on the fly. But they turned out delicious…moist, flavorful and healthy! Continue reading

I just love vegetables! I had to put that out there, and it will make sense in a minute. But what I love most is my weekly homage to the female chefs in the culinary world. Wednesday is more than a hump day to mark the slide towards the weekend. For me it is the focal point of the week. I get so much joy honoring a gorgeous gourmet gal by recreating one of her recipes live on Snapchat (username blissbakery). But today’s episode, number 97 if you are counting, is especially dear to me because of the incredible chef Nyesha Arrington!
