Sweden’s Smorgasbord of Life

The last couple of months Yankee Doodle Paddy has been blessed with travel.  Though I have posted it on social media, I am finally getting around to sharing here on the blog. A little Tuesday Travel Treat for you!   And the country I want to tell you about first is Sweden.  While Hubby and I were in Stockholm once before for two nights back in 2009, I’ve always wanted to return. It is such a fascinating city!  And since my Hubby is an American of Swedish ancestry it is fun to see him light up in his “motherland”!  Recently he had to be there for work and I decided to tag along. And boy was I glad I did! Continue reading

Recipe: Honey Mustard Apple Chicken

Recipes this time of year are usually related to festive fare. Yet we still need food to eat beyond the Christmas table. Unfortunately most people are so busy with shopping and parties, meal time is the last thing on their list.  So quick trip to a take away or pizza delivery suffices.  We could use a recipe that is quick and easy and still relatively healthy. Because we will have enough indulgence for the month of December, right? Enter the Honey Mustard Apple Chicken. Served with a nice rice pilaf and green beans sauteed in shallots and this could become your go to dinner for 2017! Continue reading

Sunday Spotlight Snap Sista Recap #3

As the line from the famous festive song says “I’ll be home for the holidays”, that is where I am at the moment. Well, I am in America with my family and since home is where the heart is, then I am home.  So I won’t be doing a Sunday Spotlight Snap Sista episode today. But I thought it would be a good time to do another recap. Since I have done three recaps before (which you can read if you click here, here and here), I’d like to give the final twelve of the 39 amazing honorees their moment in the blogosphere sun. You see, not everyone who reads the blog is on Snapchat, so it’s always nice for them to learn about some really cool people out there in social media who got some love from me on their special day. Crafty Christmas

Tis the season to break out all the creativity. There are so many opportunities to decorate, bake, and make homemade pressies.  But not everyone is inclined to do it themselves. Time is one reason and another is talent. In our mind we might look at something on pinterest and think “oh I can re-create that” and it turns out nothing like the photo. They even have a whole webpage of “pinterest fails” which is sadly funny! Continue reading

Freddie Buttons for WCW!

freddy_with_yogurt

Today is usually Woman Crush Wednesday, the day I save for my female chefs.  I recreate one of their recipes live on Snapchat (my username is blissbakery) and I post a love story about the honoree on here.  But today I am in America visiting my family.  I will take a break from the kitchen to devote the precious time to them.  However, I am sharing a little story about a special someone,  Freddy ButtonsContinue reading
