Recipe Round Up! Homemade Holiday Brunch Ideas

I know we are all busy bees with only a couple more sleeps until Chrimbo (as it is called over here in London). So this will be a quick and easy blog post as a go to guide of what you can make for breakfast and brunch over the holiday period. You may already know this about me but Sunday brunch is literally my favorite meal of the week!  While it isn’t always acceptable to eat a hearty and indulgent brunch every day, over the next week it is almost mandatory!  On this list you will find sweet and savory dishes.  There are some healthy options here too. So I’ll categorize it like Santa would, a NAUGHTY and NICE list!   So sit back, relax, and drool over some some great brunch ideas…. Continue reading

Recipe: Waffles Two Ways

Hello from Havana!  Sorry to have to miss an opportunity for another Woman Crush Wednesday cooking tutorial.  However, Hubby is a juror at a film festival here in Cuba.  Specifically the Festival International Del Nuevo Cine Latino Americano.  We were lucky to have been in Venice, Italy for the film festival there this summer, which you can read about here.  And this one is shaping up to be pretty amazing too.  I will share a blog post as soon as possible. Until then, I have a little treat for you!  Continue reading

Recipe: Homemade Foodie Christmas Gifts

Since I am sicker than a dog today, I am going to have to miss my fav Woman Crush Wednesday series.  Which makes me sad as a bird with no wings!  But since I can’t breathe or swallow (two things I kind of need to be able to do for a cooking tutorial) I figured I’d better take a pass this week.  Stella (who is my dog and who IS healthy) is delighted!  Since she hates Wednesdays and all the loud music and bad singing, she is happy as a clam right now! Geez, I just realized I’m using lots of animal similes.  Anyway, I decided to bring you and me some good cheer….in the form of a new recipe and a round up of some homemade foodie gifts Continue reading

Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday

If you haven’t noticed by now, I try to balance out the recipes on Yankee Doodle Paddy with some naughty and some nice.  I am not a vegan or vegetarian but I do enjoy eating and cooking that way from time to time.  I try not to eat too much dairy,  but since butter is one of my fav things in life I do allow it, when it is worth it.  Well today’s recipe is one of those days!  It is the 78th edition of Woman Crush Wednesday and our gorgeous gourmet gals (yes plural) are Martha Swift and Lisa Thomas of Primrose Bakery here in London. Continue reading

Recipe: Beggin’

I have a recipe to share with you today.  It is an easy Brussels Sprout side dish that is so good it will leave you beggin’ for more!  But before I get your lips smacking, I have a story to share with you. In fact I’ve wanted to share it for ages but couldn’t decide on a title. One idea was Panhandling (another name for begging).  Another was “Are you excited to see me or is that a rifle in the back seat?”  But that one sounded too far fetched. But this is a story about begging people for money and the scary situation that led to the rifle incident. Continue reading

Happy Hump Day folks!  Thanks for checking in for the 77th episode of Woman Crush Wednesday.  And what a day it is!  The day before Thanksgiving and while Hubby and I are not in the USA to celebrate, we will have our own festivities here in London.  By Friday everyone will be in the Christmas countdown.  So to help us get in the mood, today’s gorgeous gourmet gal The Healthy Chef Teresa Cutter has a delicious Gingerbread Cookie recipe for us. It is gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free.  I’m so excited to try it and tell you more about Teresa! Continue reading
