This Guest Blogger series here on Yankee Doodle Paddy has been a wonderful way to meet some new folks and learn more about old friends. I’ve gotten lovely emails, humbly written, asking if I’d be willing to post their love stories. Often they are apologetic for their lack of writing skills or other things. But I am so happy people are getting on board with the month of LOVE and truly touched at the amazing stories. Today’s author, Melanie from Northern Ireland, has an amazing real life miracle to reveal and it’s perfectly poignant, like life…Bitter sweet! Continue reading

Guest Blogger Month: Post #16
Thank you so much to each and every one of you who have not only participated by submitting a love story but also those of you reading them! Not everyone is in a mind frame to share their thoughts on LOVE in such a public way. But my hope is that in some small way, these stories on the Guest Blogger series for February, and my open sharing of LOVE on a daily basis will give you some food for your heart and soul. Because let’s be honest, we could have everything yet have nothing if we don’t have the most important thing which is LOVE. And as we have read so far, love indeed comes in so many forms… Continue reading
Recipe: Woman Crush Wednesday
After a break last week from Woman Crush Wednesday due to travel, I am back and ready to smash it! And today’s awesome chef is culinary queen Cat Cora! This American lady with Greek roots is one of the most famous chefs in the world! She was the first female winner of Iron Chef and with numerous cookbooks, televisions shows and food businesses she deserves the LOVE today and everyday! Continue reading

Well guys we made it! It is post Valentine’s Day and there is actually still loads of LOVE to be celebrated! For many who aren’t a fan of the holiday they are just as happy it and the hype are over. While many are nursing a hangover (chocolate or otherwise), I for one am so happy to have this Guest Blogger series to look forward to each day. While LOVE is indeed my purpose in life, it is key for me that it is interactive. Meaning that it must flow like a river. Part of the hydrological cycle, with a source and mouth and lots of places to nourish in between. Continue reading

“When you lose someone you LOVE, you gain an angel you know”
This is one of my favorite quotes ever. I have to believe that somehow, someway, someday, we will be reunited with those we love dearly who have gone before us. And it is our love that keeps that invisible string tethered to them until that day. Today’s author, Tracey from County Mayo in Ireland, shares a story that for me is indicative of the above quote. And to be honest, Tracey, like the previous eleven guest bloggers , as well as those to come, needed to share this story and we all need to hear it. So thank you for taking time to read them all and show your support. Continue reading
Guest Blogger Month: Post #11
Most people don’t sit around and ponder all the different types of love. However, since I am a LOVE enthusiast, I do it all the time. But I thought it would be great during February to give you all a break from me carrying on about it, and learn from a few brave souls. Though portrayed in books, movies and songs, love isn’t the easiest thing to write about. It renders us vulnerable. However, when we focus more on sharing our experiences with this awesome human emotion, we open up and also touch the hearts of others.
Today’s author, the lovely Alison, a blogger from Northern Ireland, has done just that. There is nothing like a daddy/daughter relationship and she gives us a glimpse into a most special kind of love . And it will tug at the heart strings! Continue reading

Someone asked me the other day if Valentine’s Day is my favorite day. Yes it is, but at the same time every day is Valentine’s Day for me. It’s not just a day for romantic love, but even school children get excited to share their little cards with their friends. And maybe if the “Hallmark Holiday” gets people to think about LOVE and it’s iconic symbol (the red heart) even for only one day, then that is better than nothing at all. However, as we have seen thus far during Guest Blogger Month, there are so many ways in which love is manifested in our world. Continue reading
