It was an unlikely and unusual way to meet those who would become life long friends. Our three year old daughters were in the same class in preschool. And on the first day of school it was love at first bite. Yep their daughter bit my daughter and the rest is history! Continue reading

Lasting Sounds
Here we are on the last day of 2017. I couldn’t let this opportunity pass without wishing you a Happy New Year and sharing a post. I’ve always felt that it’s a good thing to honor the past year before moving on to the next. Whether it is savoring the memories and reflecting on all the good that’s happened or finding ways to learn from the pain and struggles. There are a myriad of ways to do that, but I decided when I first started this blog to focus on a different perspective each year. On New Year’s Eve in 2015 I focused on lasting words, and in 2016 on lasting images. I’ve chosen to call this end of the year reflection “Lasting Sounds”. Continue reading
Wine Not Make a Wreath?
Wine and Wreaths. Yep, that is what I’m talking about today! If you’re like many folks during this “twixmas” (the time between Christmas and New Years) you’ve got some time on your hands and maybe you’ve even been doing a fair bit of imbibing. If your drink of choice is wine, that means you have plenty of wine corks left over. Unless you like box o wine. Then you can just skip along past this blog post. Continue reading
What Christmas Means to Me!
Last year I shared a very brief Christmas wish here on the blog. In 2015 I shared a bit more, even a lovely Christmas video Hubby once made. So I couldn’t let this day pass without coming on and sending you my best wishes for a wonderful day! Continue reading
Recipe: Beggin’
I have a recipe to share with you today. It is an easy Brussels Sprout side dish that is so good it will leave you beggin’ for more! But before I get your lips smacking, I have a story to share with you. In fact I’ve wanted to share it for ages but couldn’t decide on a title. One idea was Panhandling (another name for begging). Another was “Are you excited to see me or is that a rifle in the back seat?” But that one sounded too far fetched. But this is a story about begging people for money and the scary situation that led to the rifle incident. Continue reading
What I Believe at Fifty Three
Another year, another birthday. The third one in which I have been fortunate enough to see since I started this blog. Since I have outlived both my parents, I embrace my age as each day is a gift. I don’t try to botox away my wrinkles because for me they are reminders of my time here on earth. I am proud to shout my chronological age from the roof tops. But the strange thing is I have never actually felt any age. I have always felt, like ME! Eternally!
Keep Calm and Silent Please
October 19th. I’ve talked about this day with you all before. It is my mom’s birthday. I poured my heart out in a post called A Moment of Silence the first year of this blog. And last year on this day I shared a totally different scenario. I was asked to speak at the NWED (National Women’s Enterprise Day) in County Galway, Ireland. So how to recognize her birthday this year, when we still don’t know after 27 years whether my mom is dead or alive? Keep Calm AND Silent Please? Continue reading
