Guest Blogger Month: Post #13

While I’ve already published a guest post this morning, I wanted to share another one this evening.  Hey the more the merrier!  Since there could be many ladies out there feeling uneasy about the impending Hallmark holiday tomorrow, I thought it would be a good time to share some helpful tips from The Porcelain Rose.  She is a gorgeous Irish blogger who just so happens to be one of my Sunday Spotlight Snap Sistas! Guest Blogger Month: Post #12

“When you lose someone you LOVE, you gain an angel you know”

This is one of my favorite quotes ever. I have to believe that somehow, someway, someday, we will be reunited with those we love dearly who have gone before us. And it is our love that keeps that invisible string tethered to them until that day.  Today’s author, Tracey from County Mayo in Ireland, shares a story that for me is indicative of the above quote. And to be honest, Tracey, like the previous eleven guest bloggers , as well as those to come, needed to share this story and we all need to hear it. So thank you for taking time to read them all and show your support. Continue reading

Guest Blogger Month: Post #11

Most people don’t sit around and ponder all the different types of love.    However, since I am a LOVE enthusiast, I do it all the time.  But I thought it would be great during February to give you all a break from me carrying on about it, and learn from a few brave souls. Though portrayed in books, movies and songs, love isn’t the easiest thing to write about. It renders us vulnerable. However, when we focus more on sharing our experiences with this awesome human emotion, we open up and also touch the hearts of others.

Today’s author, the lovely Alison, a blogger from Northern Ireland, has done just that.   There is nothing like a daddy/daughter relationship and she gives us a glimpse into a most special kind of love . And it will tug at the heart strings!  Continue reading

Guest Blogger Month: Post #10

Someone asked me the other day if Valentine’s Day is my favorite day.  Yes it is, but at the same time every day is Valentine’s Day for me.  It’s not just a day for romantic love, but even school children get excited to share their little cards with their friends.  And maybe if the “Hallmark Holiday” gets people to think about LOVE and it’s iconic symbol (the red heart) even for only one day, then that is better than nothing at all.  However, as we have seen thus far during Guest Blogger Month, there are so many ways in which love is manifested in our world. Guest Blogger Month: Post #9

If this is your first day to join the LOVE party let me welcome you. Over here on Yankee Doodle Paddy everyday is all about the love! But in February while the world is in high gear selling flowers, cards and chocolates I thought I would be nice to delve a bit deeper into the subject. I am inviting folks to share my little corner of the internet to give their perspective of love and what it means. The response has been astounding. Not just from the authors who are baring their souls, but from the readers giving supportive comment, likes and shares.  So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! Continue reading

Guest Blogger Month: Post #8

The greatest surprise about hearing these LOVE stories during this guest blogger series on Yankee Doodle Paddy, is how varied and personal each perspective is.  What a pure privilege to witness these brave souls opening up, being vulnerable about how and where they have experienced love.  Today’s author, fifteen year old Alannah, gives us a glimpse into how her love of the arts have provided an escape from the harsh realities of life.  Music, dance, art, so many of these creative channels are a way to harness pain and joy into a tangible form.  Continue reading

Guest Blogger Month: Post #7

LOVE, our topic during Guest Blogger Month here on Yankee Doodle Paddy, is thought to be expressed through five different languages:  Gift giving, words of affirmation, acts of service, quality time, and physical touch. Today’s author, Eleanor, shares her love story which is a great representation of the physical touch aspect.  In a warm and personal piece, we get insight into why a simple hug is so complex in its benefits.
